Gateway to the new Milan

Launched in the late 2000s, the project comprises prestigious office towers, high and low-rise residential buildings, green spaces and pedestrian precincts that will connect Porta Nuova with Milan’s oldest business district. Porta Nuova’s crowning visual symbol is the UniCredit Tower. The 31-story asymmetrical glass encased tower is the tallest in Italy, attracting the eye from miles around with its dynamic, spiraling shape.

Fulfilling expectations

Strong commitment and effective communication were critical to the successful cooperation. Solutions were optimized to meet the needs of the customer, contractor, and consultants in terms of customization and system integration. And to comply with architectural specifications, we worked closely with the architect to design wide cars with customized interiors and stylish landing signalization. The UniCredit Tower is also equipped with eco-efficient elevators, assisting in its qualification for LEED Gold certification.

"In addition to design specifications, our elevators offer superior ride comfort that includes access-integrated solutions and a KONE Destination Control System," says Danilo Cozzi, New Equipment Business Director for KONE Italy.
