This initiative focuses on providing guidance to women employees in 4 categories: Development | Well being | Engagement | Inspiration

We concentrate mainly on certain strategies that women employees wanted to know more and keep growing within the organization.

Focus on career progression: Women today expect more from their careers than any previous generation. Women just starting out in their careers said career advancement was the most attractive trait in an employer. The least attractive was lack of opportunities. Most of our experienced female professionals wanted us to establish formal career progression plans to keep them motivated and committed.

Mindset matters: A lot of women reported personal experience of gender discrimination when applying or interviewing for a job. We had conducted a workshop only for women employees where they could get a clear and systematic picture of the teams and the possible skill sets required to apply for the job within KONE.

Trainings: IWTC had come up with many training sessions that are specifically only for women employees, like financial planning, health talks, technical and soft skills training that are on pipeline.

Corporate Social Responsibility

KONE India CSR operates with a mission on betterment of the community through measures that will bring in sustainable development and growth of its inhabitants.

Our commitment to society is an integral part of our value system’. KONE India CSR initiatives involve various efforts in which we engage ourselves to give something back to the society. Our CSR initiatives commit to deliver the following values:

- Excellence: Promote creative and critical thinking among students within a culture of inspiration, high expectations, accountability, and quality service.
- Social and Ethical Responsibility: Increase access to opportunity and promote social justice.
- Accountability: Demonstrate personal accountability for student learning.
- Innovation: Challenging ourselves to create unique ideas and innovative solutions with the use of digital technology.
- Service: Dedicating ourselves to delivering excellent service.

KONE India CSR, currently operates in rural villages around Sriperumbudur and Tiruvallur districts in Tamil Nadu giving primacy to the most marginalised. Our interventions were designed in close consultation with the communities after an extensive needs assessment of the target groups. Our scope of the CSR initiatives covers the following areas

Education: Our vision towards education is to bring smiles to lesser privileged children by providing a quality learning environment. Currently, we work in 20 villages around Sriperumbudur and Tiruvallur districts for an “After School Education” program partnering with Single Teacher Schools – A Unit of Swami Vivekananda Rural Developmet Society.that benefits 610 students. Students are provided after school coaching to enable them to cope with the demands of the syllabus at school. Also, students who have dropped out are prepared to join a specific grade level based on their age. Each school is run by a single teacher who takes classes between 5 - 8 PM every day. The focus is on English, Maths, Environmental Science & Tamil and the Students are also taught yoga. This project is being implemented by Swami Vivekananda Rural Development Society. Nearly 610 children were provided with free basic primary education. 20 village women were provided with employment opportunities through this project. In a yet another initiative, KONE India has a tie up with Sevalaya – (a registered charitable Trust with activities in villages around Thiruvallur and Kancheepuram district.) through which we plan to provide educational support to underprivileged children and operational support to orphanage homes.

Skill learning: KONE India offers a full time diploma program in Vertical Transportation along with Chitkara University. This partnership powered by CSR is aimed at leveraging the academic and industry experience to undertake Curriculum Development & Talent Management in Mechanical Engineering requisite to the Vertical Transportation Industry.

Health Care: We conduct health awareness camps in our Single Teacher School project villages periodically. Our future focus is to expand our reach to more villages with health check-ups and camps.

Volunteer Engagement Activities: KONE India CSR encourages its employees to actively take part & volunteer in many CSR initiatives such as; like Joy of Giving, Audiobook recording, Podcast recording, Conducting sports meets, etc.,
